IF YOU HAVE VISITED US RECENTLY YOU WILL HAVE NOTICED THE MALTHOUSE SURGERY HAS HAD AN UPDATE - we thank both patients & staff for their co-operation whilst the works have been carried out

WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THE NEW SURROUNDINGS AND IT MAKES FOR A MORE PLEASANT EXPERIENCE WHEN VISITING US HERE AT THE SURGERY.

If registered, routine appointments (plus ordering of repeat prescriptions, viewing test results, immunisation history, medical problems and recorded allergies) can now be booked using EMIS online services: Access online services using the above link.

diary_appointmentUnless you have an urgent need for the day please phone in after 10:30am for a routine appointment.

Your appointment will usually be with your registered doctor, however, if you wish to you can see another doctor.

If you feel your problem is medically urgent, you will be fitted into the Duty Doctor surgery for a telephone triage call.  Please note if you consider an appointment as urgent you will be expected to accept the appointment time offered.

Please phone before 9.00am if urgent and needed that morning and between 1pm and 2.00pm, if urgent and needed that afternoon.

Please phone 01235 468860 to make your appointment.

(Alternatively you can register for online services (see link above for online services) or during a visit to the Surgery and once registered book routine GP appointments online)

For routine appointments either call at the reception desk or phone between 10.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Normally you will be offered your doctor’s first free appointment, however, if another GP has a considerably shorter waiting time you will be offered an appointment with this GP, unless you specify otherwise. You will be asked to give our receptionists an indication of your problem to ensure you are directed to the right healthcare professional (it might be more appropriate for you to see or speak to a GP with special skills instead of your usual GP, the Practice Nurse, our physiotherapist, our Clinical Pharmacist or another service) and they have an idea of the issue, but may decline if you do not wish to provide such information.  Occasionally, female patients may prefer to see a female doctor and male patients a male doctor. Please inform the receptionist if this is your wish.

Though we work as a group practice you will be assigned to one of our doctors whom you will see for routine appointments if they are available at a time that meets your needs, otherwise an appointment can be made with another GP to better match your availability. We believe that continuity of care through your own doctor is very important.

The Surgery is open from 8am to 6.30pm weekdays and GPs are available at various times during the day for routine appointments.

nurse_senior_bpWe have Duty Doctor GPs available daily for urgent on the day cover and offer extended hours through the Abingdon Federation HUBS 7 days a week, where you can book pre-arranged appointments.
