How Do I...
Make An Appointment?
Please phone 0844 477 3300 to make your appointment. Please phone before 9.00am if it is needed that morning and before 3.00pm if it is for the evening surgery.
For other appointments either call at the reception desk or phone between 11.00am and 3.00pm Monday to Friday. You will be offered your doctor’s first free appointment unless you specify otherwise. If your problem is medically urgent, you will be fitted into the surgery that your doctor is currently holding if at all possible.
You will be asked to give our receptionists an indication of your problem to help your doctor - you may decline if you do not wish to.
How To See Your Doctor
Though we work as a group practice you will be assigned to ONE of our doctors whom you will see if they are in surgery. Other doctors will not see you if your doctor is in surgery. We believe that continuity of care through your own doctor is very important.
Occasionally, female patients may prefer to see a female doctor and male patients a male doctor. Please inform the receptionist if this is your wish.
Nurses' Appointments
Please phone 0844 477 3300 after 11.00am to make a nurse’s appointment.
Clinics are available 8.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00 - 6.00pm.
Appleton Surgery
Patients of Dr Debney who live in Appleton, Eaton, Fyfield, Netherton and Tubney can attend the surgery held in the Village Hall, Appleton. No appointment is needed.
The surgery is held on Monday 9.00 - 10.00am and Friday 4.30 - 6.00pm (except bank holidays). On Mondays, a maximum of 15 patients are catered for, and 20 on Fridays.
How Do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?
These are done at the doctors’ discretion. Patients are asked to come to the surgery whenever possible, as the facilities are much better. However, if your illness stops you making the journey to the surgery, it is important that you make your request for a visit before 10.00am and no later. (This will ensure your own doctor - who knows you best - will respond, provided they are available.) ONLY if an emergency occurs should a request be made later. If you need a visit urgently, please make this clear to the receptionists.
How Do I...
Obtain Test Results?
Please attend in the mornings Monday to Friday for blood/urine tests etc. Results for these take seven days to come back to the surgery. Results for X-rays usually take longer, so please do ring us first to check whether your results are in. Please contact the surgery after 4.00pm to obtain your results.
If your doctor asks you to bring a specimen for the laboratory, it must arrive at the surgery by 11.30am.
Always ensure you have the correct container for your specimen. Your name, your doctor’s name and your date of birth must be marked on the container. These are available from the receptionists at the main reception desk.
