We believe that the NHS works better when health professionals are dedicated
and patients are committed to using the service responsibly. To that end, please:
• Do what you can to look after your own health, and follow
advice on a
healthy lifestyle.
• Care for yourself when appropriate, eg treat yourself at home for common
ailments such as coughs, colds and sore throats.
• Give blood if you are able, and carry an organ donor or special needs
card
or bracelet.
• Listen carefully to advice on your treatment and medication. Tell the
doctor
about any treatments you are already taking.
• Keep your appointment, or let the GP, dentist, clinic or hospital know
as soon
as possible if you cannot make it. Book routine appointments in plenty of time.
• Return any equipment that is no longer needed.
• Pay NHS prescription and any other charges promptly. Claim financial
benefits or
exemptions from these charges correctly.
Remember that you may express a preference of practitioner.
Confidentiality
All information about patients is confidential. All our staff adhere to the Good Medical Practice as laid down by the General Medical Council.
Sometimes your health information may be shared with statutory NHS bodies and research teams in order that services may be improved.This information does not usually contain any personal names and addresses when it leaves the practice. Nonetheless, you are at liberty to withdraw permission for this information to be shared.
Freedom Of Information – Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available.
This scheme is available from reception.
Comments And Complaints
Comments and complaints about the surgery and its service can be made through the suggestion box in the waiting room and you may speak to our Patient Services Manager in private at any time.
Our policy is displayed by the side of the suggestions box.
